A Long Serving and Dedicated Servant to Rugby Football and ARFC

It is with great regret that the Club have learned today, Sunday 8th July, of the death of Mike Thomas. Mike had been ill for some time, but put up a good fight, with fortitude, good humour and a positive attitude.
He was a tremendous servant to Rugby Football and in particular to his long association with Alton RFC. He started as a player (hooker) for what was then Alton and Farnham RFC in the 1960s and went on to be a respected administrator. His greatest legacy to the game of rugby will be the many years he spent as a Junior Coach and for that he will be fondly remembered by many children and parents alike.
He will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of his company and our condolences go to Sue and family at this sad time.

The memorial service for Mike Thomas will be on Friday 3rd of August, 2:00pm at Farringdon Church, with drinks following at Alton Rugby Club . All welcome.
