Typically a dentist fitted gumshield can cost in excess of £50-£60. The ones from major brands where you send off your home made mould are £40+. Self fitted gumshields are cheap and do the job, so long as they are fitted properly. But, if they are loose and do not stay fitted to the teeth while playing, they can be useless and even a choking hazard.
