Colts Learn Key Lessons in First League Game of the Season

Although this was a losing start to our league campaign we came away with some key lessons learnt. Our pack dominated with a number of outstanding performances on the day. Stand out forward of the day, receiving man of the match, was Danny Lewis (also winning the drinking contest!). Well done. The pack pushed Havant back in the scrums, disrupted their line out and won ours, and showed a continued improvement in the ruck. Ollie Fellows and Arthur again integrated seamlessly into the team delivering solid performances. The Havant back line were well drilled and full of pace, proving the difference on the day, even against the tenacious tackling of Lewie on all fronts. Further work on our defensive patterns and comms will I'm sure make the return match a closer affair. It's important that everyone reflects on their individual performances, identifies the 1 or 2 simple things that can improve their play, and uses our training sessions to practice and improve. Basingstoke next weekend in the League.
