A tough day at the Office!

This weekend saw Winchester dominate an under-strength Alton side. With a squad struck by injury and a sickness bug, Alton could raise a squad of only 18.2 for the game. Yes 18.2, featuring the return of Andrew Morrish, who under doctors orders played a cameo 10 minute spell. It was great to see Andy back on the field and making an impact. Only 5 fit backs meant that some childhood dreams were fulfilled, with 3 forwards making their debut at center and wing. Thanks to those that stepped up and played out of position. Interestingly none of those who made the transition see a long term change to the three-quarters on the horizon.
All in all , this was one to chalk down to experience, but importantly Alton fielded a side and played where many would have, and have, rescheduled in the same situation.
Well done to everyone. Back to winning ways this weekend as we host Portsmouth at Ansty Park.
