Sussexs' best v Alton

Alton travelled to Horsham to face a Horsham Colts side dominating the Sussex Division 1 league. A 1 hour 15 minute journey time saw numerous Alton players unavailable, due to work commitments and other reasons, along with a few who were expected but simply didn't show up. The 16+1 (Ollie F, keep taking the cold remedies) players who made the journey must be applauded, having to play a full 70 minutes against a well drilled and fit unit. Alton managed 3 good tries, against 9 scored by Horsham. Horsham scored some great tries through accurate support play, aided by some weak tackling by Alton.
Another day, with some improved squad commitment, and a full strength side would paint a very different picture.
A Team, by definition is about the whole, not the few who make the effort, something that Alton should reflect upon as we return to league action against Trojans next weekend.
