Alton travel away to take on Surrey talent

Alton travelled to Guilford for a friendly to test themselves against some of the best Surrey has to offer. The final score of 31-31 was a good reflection of a game which showed a lot of talent from both sides.

George Lucas (captain) contributed a hat trick of tries in what was a leaders performance throughout the game. Every single Alton player put in a solid performance, being even more impressive, as a result of having only 15 players available on the day.
A difficult last kick from Harry Faulkner, who had kicked excellently all game just went wide to rob Alton of the win on the day.

Maybe Guildford had expected something different on the day, and maybe the battle provided by Alton was the reason why none of the Guildford squad stayed to show any hospitality. The after match food, of a box of Pringles and a Mars bar, bought by Alton, tasted all the sweater having given Guildford a tough contest, that they maybe had not expected.

Next year maybe a game at fortress Anstey, where we can show our hospitality, feed them and wish them well, irrespective of the game type and result.
