On a windy day at Anstey Park the Colts experienced one of those days when nothing seemed to go right. Dropped balls, bad passes, weak defence, turn over after turn over, interceptions and a general "I wish I were somewhere else" day.
NewMilton were the better side on the day and deserve to progress. They showed passion and a desire to win in contrast to the Alton performance.
The Colts now need to rally and get back to our best to face what will be a strong Maidenhead side in the National U18 Cup next weekend.
This weekend, apart from the outstanding performance from Sam Ubhayaker, is one to put down to experience and take the lessons on board for games to come.
