The Colts returned to League action, hosting Winchester in a Hampshire Division 1 league game. Alton had narrowly won the first encounter at the beginning of the season.
The first half saw Alton struggle with their discipline which resulted in multiple penalties to the visitors, enabling Winchester to establish what looked like a winning lead of 5-20 at half time.
A passionate team talk at half time by the Alton skipper saw a different side return to the field. Alton displayed much better structure, defensive attitude and a desire to win both the contact areas and the game.
Alton finished a worthy 24-20 winning side , achieving the needed try bonus point in the process.
A great second half of rugby which should be reflected upon and remembered for the start of our next league fixture.
