Alton U18 travelled to Andover to start the league campaign for 2018-2019.

The first half was a case of a dominant Andover pack vs a dominant Alton back line, seeing Alton defend wave after wave of Andover close in attacks followed by expansive exits and attacks by the Alton back line.

The half ended 1 try a piece, with Andover leading 8-5.

The second half saw Alton score first with a Penalty from Harry Faulkner, levelling the scores 8-8.
Andover continued to bludgeon the Alton pack at every opportunity creating periods of sustained pressure close to the Alton line. This pressure resulted in two further Andover tries, unanswered by Alton.

As a squad we learnt some key lessons from the encounter, lessons that will be worked on in the coming week prior to what will be another tough league game against Winchester next weekend.
