Another great performance delivered by the Alton Colts taking on league leader, Havant. As expected the Havant side were big and athletic from 1-15, a side who were un-beaten so far this season.
Alton started the game, from where they had left off against Ealing the previous week, tackling everything that came at them and looking the more creative and structured side for long parts of the game.
With 14 minutes to go, Alton had sustained pressure in the Havant red zone, declining a 3 point opportunity in front of the posts to go for the win. Havant's defence stood strong, attack after attack, finally exiting and relieving the pressure to close out time with a 17-14 win.
Outstanding performance's from Alton came from Charlie Warner and Rufus Dent, both showing their quality against a very good Havant side.
Next week sees Alton face Chinnor, in a National Colts Cup game at home. Another big game , another chance to get that elusive win that is clearly deserved.
