Our 100 year celebrations are fast approaching and now is the time to get involved and help make it a year to remember.
The club was formed following a meeting held at Alton Assembly Rooms on Thursday 8th April 1926. The first match played by Alton and District Rugby Football Club was on Wednesday 14th April 1926. The match report says “Although Flowerdown won by 27 points to 3, the score did not quite represent the game, as Alton put in frequent bursts of good foot-work, and had hard luck in not increasing their score on one or two occasions.”
First Task
Alton Rugby Club will play a centenary match on Saturday 18th April against a Hampshire Select XV and your help in planning the day, including fundraising activities in and around the club, is needed.
Please contact President@altonrfc.club if you can help in any way organising or supporting our celebrations
I look forward to hearing from you soon
