As we approach the end of this season, we’re doing so in what is a very special year for Alton RFC - our centenary year!
Alton and District Rugby Football Club played its first rugby match on April 14th 1926. To start our centenary celebrations, we will be playing a centenary match against RAF Odiham on Saturday 18th April at Anstey Park
One hundred years of rugby, being a part of the Alton-wide community and the shared memories is something we’re incredibly proud of. Please join the celebrations on the day and during the coming season as at various events that are being organised.
We have invited a number of guests to the pre match meal on the 18th which due to numbers means that it is by invitation only. There will be a Hog Roast outside available to everyone who would like to come along and enjoy the pre match get together. Kick off will be 1500hrs. Please then join in the after match music / singalong with Gary Myles from 1800hrs
Other centenary events include:
Summer Ball (black tie) to be held on the 11th July. Dinner followed by dancing to Kayla and The Cards. Further information including menu and final timings to follow. Price £75 per person. Please confirm to President@altonrfc.club as soon as possible as numbers are limited to 80.
Past Players Lunch to be held on our first home league fixture in our centenary season 2026/27. We anticipate this to be 3rd week September but will confirm once the league dates are announced. Please spend some time and make contact with your old team mates; we would love to see as many past squads / teams coming together and celebrating days of yore. We expect this to be a very busy event so please book your table early so we can work out the logistics!!
We look forward to seeing you on the 18th April to celebrate this centenary year together and to launch the club forward into the next 100 years
Kind regards
Malcolm Osborne
President
