What are the membership costs?
Full costs depend on the number of children you have playing in the club and whether the parents are playing or non-playing members. Full details of fees are available at membership fees
The money from membership fees goes towards a variety of things such as RFU coaching courses, club equipment, paying for entry to festivals, pitch and changing room hire etc. It is also to ensure the club is managed in a way that allows us to continue to effectively develop our children, young people and adults’ rugby skills within the local community.
To be able to pay your fees you will need to have registered on the Alton RFC website. There is a simple how to guide at how to join Alton RFC to help you.
This will request various aspects regarding permission for photography, medical issues we should be aware of, etc. All Kids first/ Age grade players will also need to have a parent/guardian registered on the club website. Once you are registered you will be able to pay the necessary membership fees. A single direct debit or 12 monthly direct debits are available to suit how you want to pay.
Members are expected to have set up payment for their membership by the 30th September each season. New members joining during the season will be expected to have set up their membership payment within 4 weeks of their first session. This will allow new players to ‘test’ whether rugby is right for them before committing to the full membership payment.
Getting involved in the club
Ever thought of volunteering? There are many areas within the club, and we rely on volunteers to run the club. Players and coaches are vitally important but so are the many dedicated volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to help the club function.
Without this support our club would not run! There will be jobs to suit you, the time you have, and that you may even enjoy! You don’t have to be a rugby expert to get involved, you could be a valued rugby volunteer.
While the benefits of volunteering are specific to each individual, the inclusive environment of a community rugby club is a rewarding place to be for people with differing sets of skills. There are opportunities to get involved for people of all ages, and some of the benefits include:
Building self-esteem and confidence
Learning and developing new skills
Enhancing work experience and building a CV
Being active and improving health and wellbeing
Meeting new people and broadening your social network
Giving something back to the game you love
Making a difference in the community
Having fun
