Mac was nominated by Ollie Bowden, the head coach of the under 10’s, to be a mascot at the England v Scotland match last week end ,following a really tough time for him at school where he was bullied. Mac, throughout, has remained committed to rugby and has always been a team player. He is the epitome of a solid player, not the star try scorer but the one that is an integral part of the team. The experience, at the week end, has been a massive boost to his confidence and has further cemented his love of rugby.
He and his family had an amazing day at the Allianz stadium. He got to greet the players on their arrival, have a mini backstage tour and then walk out onto the pitch with Ollie Chessum!
Although Scottish in name and heritage, Mac says that he used the same resolve that saw him a joint winner of the U11 hulk award last week to ‘grin and bear’ his mascot duties with England . Rumour has it he may have worn a Scotland jersey under the one supplied by England!
