The Under 8’s had a large attendance for the Alton festival with 22 of the squad turning out, playing host to Petersfield, Winchester, Overton, Basingstoke, Alresford & Trojans.
Alton 1 got off to a slow start, narrowly beaten 5-4 by a strong Winchester side, a draw and two wins followed, with a final defeat to Trojans, the boys having spent a lot of energy chasing the mascot around Anstey Park! Special mention goes to Sam Wey who put in a fantastic performance with some incredible solo runs and to Archie Williams making his tournament debut.
Alton 2 finished the day unbeaten with one draw and four wins with a strong performance all round, and special mention to Alfie Dixon making his debut in Alton colours.
Well done to Oscar Thirlwall, Cameron Grinstead, Jack Worthington and Henry Barttelot, putting in some confident performances as Alton 3, who mixed in with Alresford to make a Baa Baa Team.
Big thanks to everyone involved in the planning and preparation, and to everyone who helped out on the day, ensuring a fun day was had by all and Alton’s festival was yet again a success.
