It was a lovely sunny, if a bit cold, start to the day. The boys were all geared up for their first match against Overton. Overton came out of the starting blocks a bit quicker than us. But once the boys started to get into the match there was some lovely rugby. They were really working well as a team and they managed to claw back most of the ground they had lost in the first half. Unfortunately the clock was against us and the game ended in a narrow defeat.

The boys went into the next two games with a great attitude and really worked on the areas that they struggled with in the first game. This meant that they came away with two draws against Sutton & Epsom and Basingstoke 1.

The last games were the best I have ever seen them play. If a mistake was made the whole team worked together to get the ball back.

This excellent play was rewarded by two final wins against Alresford and Basingstoke 2.

All the players put in a sterling amount of effort. However, special mention needs to go out to Henry and Harry for some brilliant tagging. Tom's awareness of the game around him was outstanding enabling him to pass to players in space without being tagged first. Alex found lots of space and just kept running straight, with a few side steps.
As we had a trophy a player of the tournament was chosen. This was a difficult choice as it could have gone to any of the team but it had to go to Zac D'Arcy. He always was there in support and ran in some amazing tries. His tagging was among the best and he was aware of what was going on in the game and communicated brilliantly to his team mates.

Great festival guys. I was a very proud coach.
