On Sunday 25, the squad turned out for the Hampshire Cup at Petersfield with two teams entered, Alton and, by way of an admin error, the inappropriately titled “Black & Gold Barbarians”! The Alton team first came up against some of the usual suspects in New Milton and Winchester, which the adversaries edged. A narrow defeat by one try to Trojans was followed by the performance of the day against a big Havant side, where the boys ran out as winners. The final game of the day saw Petersfield edge the game by one try.
The Barbarians team, had an extremely satisfying day ending it unbeaten against Overton, Eastleigh, Farnborough, Ellingham & Ringwood & Fareham, with what was described as some of the best rugby seen to date, played consistently throughout the day. Well done boys!. It was awesome to see such team work and determination.
Thanks as ever for all the support from the parents over the weekend, and a happy Easter to everyone.
