A busy weekend of rugby for the Under 8’s commenced early on the morning of Saturday 24 March, with 10 players making the trip to Reading for the London Irish St Patricks Day Festival. The early morning rain contributed to some wet and muddy conditions and with lots of handling errors, with the ball like a bar of soap, the boys ended the first two games narrowly beaten by Reading Abbey and Cricklade. The boys rallied, putting into practice their improved defence which they have been working on in training and ended the tournament with impressive wins over Romsey, Newbury and High Wycombe. Following the tournament everyone made their way to the Madejski Stadium to watch London Irish v Gloucester and enjoy some St Patricks Day festivities.
