It was an early start for the U10's in Reading at the London Irish Festival this week (first game at 9am!!) and I think the boys were still in bed for the first play of the day when Devises scored without a hand being laid on them. However we bounced back and held our own for the rest of the match until a couple of late tries for them put the game to bed. Our second match was against Melksham and was a little one sided but considering their smallest player was bigger than our largest player it wasn't all that surprising. The last two games against Reading and Henley didn't go our way either but the boys put in a great effort and all showed some great commitment in defence. Special mentions go to Kyran and Gethin who both produced some excellent turnovers, Sam Gale, who was all over the park in defence, Sam Kent who was top try scorer and to William McFarlane who scored the try of the day running through and over pretty much the entire Henley team on his way to the line.
The boys were delighted to be part of the Q&A session with the London Irish squad at the Madjeski and produced some excellent flag waving for the guard of honour at the start of the game. Although we came away winless at the festival, it didn't dampen the boys spirit and everyone enjoyed the day.
