Eastleigh pressured from the start with great passing down the line, creating an overlap, unfortunately the last pass was forward so no try. Sam Hollands again saved Chalton with some great tracking back and a perfect tackle to prevent a try. Chalton and Eastleigh both showed indiscipline and several scrums later Chalton managed to get into Eastleigh's half after 12". Chalton then made some ground, Hayden Thorn made a break almost to the try line, unselfishly passed to Charlie Hesk who went over for Chalton's first try and Lewis New duly converted 0-7. Chalton kept up the pressure and passing quickly out the ruck down the line and Charlie Hesk scored a 2nd try not converted 0-12. Eastleigh responded and caught Chalton unaware converted try 7-12.

Second half and a classic interception by Marcus Whale nearly resulted in a try. Turnover by Ollie Brice at a lineout pass to Lewis and a breaking run by Ben Martinez try number three. Converted by Hayden Thorn 7-19. Despite some excellent tackling and rucking by our forwards Eastleigh broke through, score now 12-19. During the last three minutes Eastleigh pressed hard right up to the try line, excellent defending on the line by Chalton. Scrum awarded to Eastleigh 10 yards out and a break on the blind side try scored 17-19. A difficult conversion was missed game over.17-19.
