Farnborough arrived with 23 players, CHAlton had 16.

The coaches decided to play three 20 minute periods so the Farnborough players all got game time. The first session was very even with both teams attacking and defending well. Josh, Lewis, Hayden and James all stepped up and seemed to be everywhere on the pitch. Despite some valiant efforts Farnborough pushed over for a try the first 20 mins ended at 0-5. As did the second session with Harvey, Ben and Harry all making inroads to the Farnborough try line doing everything possible but no try was forthcoming. Josh B once again bossed the front row, and was not put out when for the first time this season the ChAlton scrum was held. Aidan T, where did that game come from at 14 & 13 well done you, Sam Y Mr dependable at 9 bossing both forwards and back.
The final session began with CHAlton trying to decide whether to actually play as the guys were cold and soaked through and some were losing feeling in their hands. All credit to the team who decided to carry on and continued to play great rugby. James Beadle threw himself into everything and like the whole team never gave up. For that reason James got Alton's man of the match and the Chineham RFC player today that impressed the most, Charlie R as despite being half the size of everyone else put in some very hard tackles and was never fazed by the size of players running at him.
I think the final session ended 0-10 but the score wasn’t relevant as CHAlton were playing with 8 less players in terrible conditions against a side two levels higher in the league. A game played with superb spirit, Well done CHAlton.
